2022 Series 01
#1
TRHL Owners,

Series 00 has been completed. League file attached.

Rules to remember:
1. Yes DH in NL this season.
2. Three-batter minimum rule (or end of inning) for RP.
3. Four teams from each league advance to post-season.
4. 26-man active rosters.
5. Yes to no-pitch IBB.
6. Using replacement-level system in September.
7. 10-day IL.

WARNING - First half visiting teams have until Friday night, 10 PM EDT
to post MPs and instructions. Failure to do so will result in a harsh
e-mail from me asking you why the TRHL isn't your #1 priority in life.
Then I'll let the stupid, imbecilic, moronic DMB computer manager
generate an MP for you.

Results not submitted: N/A

(*) - Backup results submitted
(**) - Notified in advance

Automatic farmings due to overuse: None!

Transactions:
1. Being Don Mattingly sign Travis Swaggerty.
2. Outlaws sign Chase Anderson.
3. French Terriers sign Henlsey, Grove, Vientos, Jackson, Barlow,
Delay, Marte, Brazoban, Viloria, Calhoun, Miller, and Moustakas*.
* - Isotopes also submitted a claim for Moustakas but had a better
record than French Terriers in 2022.

Injuries (> 3 days):
None

MPs ready for Series 01: I counted seven MPs posted.

Again, rules of game play:
1. Do not play a series as the home team without first receiving a
season start MP from the visiting team owner.  Check the message board
especially for posted MPs. After Series 01, please e-mail visiting
owner if MP not listed as ready. The key is communication. Talk to
your opponent!
2. Always check the opposing team's rotation; pitchers should not
start tired unless stated otherwise by manager.
3. Honor system here; do not restart games once they've started unless
there is an obvious mistake discovered immediately upon starting
(e.g., see #2 above, you accidentally let a tired pitcher start for
opposing team)
4. You must have 25 or 26 active players at all time.  No more.  No
fewer than 25.

Reminder - we are sticking to home-and-away six-game series each week
against the same opponent.

Deadlines - 1st half deadline for first three games is Friday, March
31st, 11:59 PM EDT. Deadline for 2nd half is Monday, April 3rd, 10 PM
EDT.

Series 01 league file has been posted and the League File link on the
website has been updated.

Here's the link:

If you have any questions, e-mail me!

Thanks for playing.

G1: Frankie Montas and the impressive Newark pen (Clase, Doval) combine to shut out Thunder Bay.  McMahon doubled to lead off the game and ended up scoring the only run.  1-0 NHH.
G2: Ketel Marte homered in the opening frame to get the Chinook offense going for the season.  Gallen retired the first 13 he faced and cruised through seven IP.  7-1 TBC.
G3: Martin Perez struggled, allowing the first 6 TBC hitters to reach base and Chinook jumped out to 5-1 lead.  Kershaw was not dominant but (w/ pen help) got the win.  7-3 TBC.

Game 1 - Maine pitchers give up 1 hit and Stubbs hits the go-ahead homer in the 5th to lead the visitors to a 5-2 win.  Game 2 - Lauer gets off to a decent start in his quest to lead the league in HR allowed by giving up 3 dingers in a 7-2 Hose win.  Game 3 - DeSclafani is stunningly competent and a Jared Walsh triple highlights a 3 run Anunnaki 4th, and the home squad salvages the finale 3-2.  No injuries.

Good pitching and bad offenses, probably the theme of this year.  Temple City wins the first game 9-3 and then loses the last two by scores or 1-0 and 2-0.

For Portland at Temple City let computer manager pick the starting pitchers, please use the following lineups:

Smyly - LHP hurt LHB
Sampson - RHP hurt LHB
Manoah - RHP hurt RHB  alot

Chinook take 2 of 3 at Newark and 4 of 6 overall.

Newark gets no-hit in home opener as Spencer Strider (8.2 innings) and Chase De Jong (0.1) combine for the no-no.  Strider was great in scaterring 6 walks while getting 9 Ks.

Just love it when your 1.14 ERA closer blows the lead on opening day.  Heroes take 2 of 3.  Use lineups 1 and 2.  SPs should be Wheeler. Mikolas, and Ray.

Good pitching and bad offenses - yup that checks out.  It was a tedious brief end to the series - Isotopes winning 2-1 and 2-1 with the NRI's rising up against a laboring Alek Manoah for a whopping 3 runs to win 3-2.  Series is split 3-3 and may God have mercy on our teams. Attached are all six games.

Siskiyou gets swept by Corpus Christi, with two close games and a less close game, 5-0, 3-2, 2-0. Competent pitching and incompetent hitting. Pretty much how the year's gonna go.

Revamped Ox bullpen blows 1st pair of games which turn into long extra innings struggles.  Cuerto's complete game averts the sweep

After some blown leads and extra innings games in Ogden, the Keystones bullpen tries to return the favor in the first two games, though they get away with it in game one.  Game two is a different story and Ogden blows up the pen.  The third game has both starters rocked early -- Minneapolis takes a 6-5 lead into the sixth and now the bullpens both show up as that is the final.  Two out of three at home for Minneapolis and a series win to start the season.

ALL SIX GAMES IN THE FILE FOR SIMMER'S CONVENIENCE.

Game 1:  The French Terriers smack around a regrettably wild Nick Martinez in the second and third, on their way to an easy 6-1 win
Game 2:  The McCallions take a come from behind victory, scoring a pair in the bottom of the 8th for a 6-5 win
Game 3:  This time, it's the French Terriers getting the comeback win, with Riley hitting a two run shot in the top of the 8th.  French Terriers win 6-5.

The French Terriers may want to double-check their MP settings, as following the MP resulted in Valdez starting Game 5 (although on full rest).

Wagstaffs take the first 3 from the Outlaws. I can't help but feel that this is a bad omen.

Game 1: Outlaws score first, but the Wagstaffs score 7 unanswered. Wagstaffs win 7-1. Cal Raleigh 2-3, HR, 3 RBI.

Game 2: Outlaws score first and second. Wagstaffs SP Musgrove avoids an avalanche of runs with timely DPs and Outlaw SP Ranger Suarez doesn't get the timely DPs. Wagstaffs win 8-4. Vladdy, Jr. goes 2-5, 3 RBI.

Game 3. Wagstaffs score 4. Outlaws score 4. Wagstaffs score 4. Wagstaffs win 8-4. Dansby and Vladdy each collect 3 hits. Mullins goes 2-3, 3 RBI for the visitors.

Two late BDM comebacks to force extras in Higglytown, but the home team salvages one of them to take two of three.  Posted results are all six games.

Rojas (3-4, 3 RBI) leads the Anunnaki to a 9-6 victory in the opener.  Stubbs lone hit, a 3 run HR, keys the Pale Hose 7-3 win in the second game. Cease (1-0) strikes out 10 in 5 innings as the Pale Hose take the finale 4-2.  No significant injuries.

I played all 6 games. Close series, with 5 of the 6 games being decided by 1 or 2 runs, including one in extras.

Series was split 3-3.

Alston's CF was injured for a lengthy stretch.

By the way, Rogers' MP is ready for the next series.

As usual, throughout the season, home teams can feel free to make any reasonable roster or lineup decisions for the Rogers if there's an issue, without waiting to run it by me first.

Thx,
Ray
